Somatic Therapy for Tech Professionals

Jun Akiyama ~ MA, LPC, ACS, BC-DMT

In-Person in Longmont / Virtual in Colorado

If you're like a lot of folks in tech, you reached your place in that world by solving problems through thinking harder.

But thinking your way out of burnout, anxiety, or relationship strain often doesn’t work very well.

It’s because these challenges don't live only in your head.

Your nervous system doesn't know the difference between a production incident and a ‘real’ threat. Your body braces just the same, and that armoring can become ingrained.

I work with the body directly, alongside the mind, to help things actually shift.

I'm a somatic psychotherapist specializing in developers, engineers, tech managers, and people fresh in their tech career.

Imagine what it might be like to…

bring your whole self through the office door

close your laptop and mean it

feel a steady core underneath your credentials

stay in your body when the call goes sideways

How do I know all of this?

Before I became a therapist, I spent decades as a developer myself. I know viscerally the challenges the tech world can bring.

My body remembers all that came with the field: the Slack notifications. The perfectionism. The grind that left me feeling I was always one step behind.

I'll help you reclaim what tech culture asks you to leave at the door.
